Forget Me Not

€1,100.00

Original artwork — 50.8 × 40.6 cm

Original acrylic painting on canvas

Forget Me Not explores the familiar ritual of picking petals from a flower, one by one, while wondering whether someone you love feels the same way.

The painting is filled with bold, joyful colour and loose botanical forms, but scattered throughout the composition are delicate, unfinished daisy-like flowers. Some are fully formed, while others exist only as fragments of line - flowers still being drawn, still becoming, still waiting for their final petal.

These incomplete flowers reflect the uncertainty behind the familiar childhood game of “he loves me, he loves me not.” Each petal becomes a tiny question: Does he love me? Does he think of me? Will he stay? Will he remember me?

Against the intensity of the surrounding colour, the loose line drawings feel almost like fleeting thoughts — little moments of doubt, hope and daydreaming that exist between certainty and uncertainty.

At its heart, Forget Me Not is about love, longing and the vulnerability of not knowing. It captures that strange space between holding onto someone and wondering whether they are holding onto you too.

The unfinished flowers are intentionally left unresolved — because sometimes, just like love, the story hasn’t finished being written yet.
